This series of lectures are formed based upon Beth Felker Jones’ book Practicing Christian Doctrine as well as and integrated prayers from a book Prayers for the Pilgrimage, offering both theological understanding and practical applications.

Rev. Ricardo Alvelo, M.Div

Chair of Extension Site and Online Programs; Assistant Professor
Rev. Ricardo Alvelo serves as the Chair of Extension Site and Online Programs and as an assistant professor for the Barnett College of Ministry and Theology, supporting incoming and returning students in their educational journey daily. He also collaborates with ministry partners in the SEU network. Ricardo is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God since 2017.

Overall, Ricardo is passionate about bridging the gap between theology and our everyday lives, and is interested in research on Christian spirituality, liturgy, and hospitality as tools to promote holistic living. When out of the office, Ricardo enjoys time with his wife Anna discovering a local diner or coffeeshop, traveling locally or internationally, reading and hosting his friends over tea, board games, and frequent games of pickleball.
