Preaching with Purpose
This course offers a comprehensive foundation in the craft, character, and calling of Christian preaching. By examining the biblical qualifications for ministry, the importance of spiritual health and inner life, and the role of character in effective proclamation. Students will discover that the messenger is inseparable from the message: a preacher must first receive the word before delivering it. From there, the course moves into the practical dimensions of sermon preparation and delivery, examining how to identify audience needs, apply timeless biblical truths to contemporary life, and structure messages for clarity, simplicity, and impact. Throughout, students are invited to recognize the irreplaceable role of the Holy Spirit in every stage of preaching: from selecting a passage and organizing a sermon, to delivering the word with boldness.
